Having received her Kitchen and Bath degree and Interior Design degree from the Boston Architectural College, Jessica is designing kitchens for our Custom showroom in Newton. Jessica is also certified by the National Kitchen and Bath Association as an AKBD and is currently working on her Green Design certification.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT: Houston's in Faneuil Hall — I love their spinach artichoke dip and the warmth of the restaurant; and Olé Mexican Grill in Cambridge — they have the best Mexican food in New England and make guacamole right at your table!

FAVORITE MEAL TO COOK: I love Mexican food and really like to cook it for the average weeknight dinner. If I am spending a little more time, then I like to cook any recipe that uses braising. It just makes the meat taste so much better.

FAVORITE PLACE TO SPEND A DAY: If I am having a productive day, then I like to walk around the Blue Hills Reservation. My other favorite place to go is the Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham. I think it's designed really well and a nice outdoor place to shop.

FAVORITE KITCHEN TRENDS: I love reclaimed wood countertops. I just really like the history behind them. I also like the current trend towards green products and that they are becoming more affordable. Designwise I like to have pieces in the kitchen that really reflect the client's personality: whether it's whimsical knobs, a distressed wood hutch, or a countertop that fits their home perfectly.

ADVICE TO HOMEOWNERS: Make a list of things you have to have and try to organize them into "can't live without" and "would like if it works". I also advise my clients to try not to put pressure on themselves. The design process should be fun — it's your time to pick what you have always wanted!

Our resident transplant from California, Jessica worked in the business for 10 years with architects and engineers before joining Kitchen Views.

Jessica does not specialize in any particular style of kitchen, but prefers to let her client's style and taste guide their design choices. The kitchen remodel should fit seamlessly into her client's existing house.
