BEFORE

Basic cabinets and white appliances in this outdated kitchen are out of place in this stylish Beacon Hill condo.

Add a poor layout that left it feeling cramped and it was not a room where anyone wanted to spend time.

BEFORE

This rounded wall separated the kitchen from the livingroom, which was fine when they wanted to hide the old kitchen. You can see the doorway to the old kitchen at right, and the hallway at left.

This wall had to come down for the new, beautiful kitchen to emerge and transform the living space.

As the process begins, the old upper cabinets have been removed.

On the right-hand side you can see the old doorway into the living room. Note how small and narrow the room feels with this wall enclosing the space.

It's hard to imagine it any other way, but you can look back at the pictures to see how far it has come.

Neil shares, “One of our friends called it the nicest bar on Beacon Hill. Then asked, how do I get a reservation?”

The open view back toward the livingroom shows that this is now one unified living space.

The couple is enjoying a newfound love for entertaining. It's easy to imagine conversations between the homeowners and their guests as food and beverages are prepared and served.

But everyday living is also more enjoyable now that their home is expanded and style reigns throughout.

Here's a close-up view of the beautiful cabinets, steel appliances, black granite countertops and dramatic mosaic backsplash.

The intuitively designed layout makes each task easy, and with the added storage in the new bar there is a place for everything.
