Kitchen Views can make dreams come true, as shown in this long-planned beach house that is used year-round. The client loved color, but she wanted to maintain a soft, beach vibe.
The stove hood provides architectural detail and is a focal point in the kitchen space. The shelf provides a decorative place to display small favorite items. Over the stovetop, the pale blue tile feature inset in the sand tone backsplash continues the gentle beach colors tying together all elements of the open concept design.
Under the cooktop, there is a spice rack hidden in the lower cabinetry to the right of two deep drawers to store large pots and pans conveniently. On the left is a vertical tray divider for cookie sheets and cutting boards. The island provides storage for utensils, outlets for small appliances and the oven is installed across from the cooktop.
The large farmhouse style sink with drainage grooves cut into the quartz countertop by Cambria, also has a dishwasher at hand.
Two appliance garages were included in the design to combat countertop clutter, by hiding the coffee maker and other small appliances, along with an under-counter microwave.
The owners selected quartz by Cambria for its durability and easy maintenance. They entertain a lot and didn’t want to worry about staining. Lisa likes working with Cambria because they can provide extra details such as the drainage grooves near the sink. With Cambria there is a look and fit for every kitchen.
The large island accommodates four comfortably for casual meals. Hidden on the seating side of the island are cabinets for storing occasionally used vases, glassware and seasonal items.
The island is Cherry with porch swing stain finish to mimic driftwood.
In this open concept layout, the bookcase on the end of the island makes a natural transition between the kitchen and comfortable seating area around the fireplace. Favorite books and knickknacks display the personalities of the residents.
This casual dining area, designed with built-in seating, is adjacent to the kitchen and conveys the gracious, welcoming, happy personalities of the homeowners.
